As a teacher, I aspire to foster a learning environment that is encouraging, loving, and memorable. In the past I have had teachers that completely change my life, and I want to be able to do that for someone else through dance education. From teaching, students will learn not only the technical elements of dance but also the significance of emotional connections to dance. I believe it is imperative to understand the mind body connection that is required to learn and execute dance. I would use a multitude of teaching methods such as physical movement, presentations, videos, and spoken lessons. Most importantly, I would want students to physically learn dance technique. I can assist them by teaching them the knowledge and provide useful feedback to develop their understanding of the techniques.
